MF Compare

Personal Project2025

Empowering investors with side-by-side mutual fund analytics and portfolio overlap insights.

Product ManagementFinTechAnalytics2025

The Core Challenge

Evaluating mutual funds is often overwhelming due to fragmented data across multiple AMCs, dense quantitative metrics, and unclear risk-return trade-offs. The challenge was to design a clean, intuitive comparison experience that enables investors and advisors to compare fund performance, expense ratios, portfolio overlap, and risk ratios without cognitive overload.

Product Responsibilities

  • Conducted user research with investors and distributors
  • Defined comparison framework and feature prioritization
  • Created PRDs, user flows, and wireframes
  • Collaborated with data and engineering teams on metric calculations
  • Designed portfolio overlap and risk-return comparison modules
  • Led usability testing and iterative product refinements

Net Worth Tracker

Personal Project2025

A unified personal finance dashboard bringing assets, liabilities, and portfolio analytics into a single view.

Product DesignFinTechAnalytics2025

The Core Challenge

Most investors track their wealth across fragmented apps — bank accounts, mutual fund portals, stock brokers, crypto wallets, and EPF/PPF portals. This causes a lack of holistic visibility into overall asset allocation, debt exposure, and real net worth trajectory. The goal was to design an intuitive, unified dashboard that automatically aggregates and visualizes all assets and liabilities with zero clutter.

Product Responsibilities

  • Conducted user interviews to identify personal finance tracking friction points
  • Designed dashboard information architecture and visual hierarchy
  • Defined asset allocation models and net worth calculation formulas
  • Built interactive charts for net worth growth, debt payoff, and liquidity ratios
  • Iterated based on user feedback to streamline manual and automated tracking

Retro Marketplace

Personal Project2025

A curated collector marketplace focused on trust, verified discovery, and seamless transactions.

Product StrategyMarketplaceUX2025

The Core Challenge

Niche collector marketplaces often suffer from counterfeit items, opaque pricing, and fragmented buyer-seller communication. The challenge was to design a trust-first platform architecture with item authenticity verification, transparent price discovery, and frictionless checkout.

Product Responsibilities

  • Defined product vision, marketplace mechanics, and seller verification flows
  • Designed end-to-end buyer and seller journeys from discovery to fulfillment
  • Formulated escrow-backed payment and fraud prevention strategies
  • Led user research across collector communities to validate core feature needs

PM Operating Model

How I Build Products

A battle-tested framework for managing the friction between regulatory compliance, engineering feasibility, and seamless user experience.

PHASE 01

Discovery & Regulatory Scoping

Map user friction against regulatory guardrails (SEBI, AMFI, RBI guidelines). Understand business objectives, unit economics, and operational constraints before writing a single spec.

Core Output:

  • Market & User Research
  • Regulatory Risk Assessment
  • High-Level Product Goals
PHASE 02

PRDs & Technical Architecture

Translate ambiguous business logic into exhaustive PRDs, user journeys, and API contract expectations. Define data models, third-party vendor fallbacks, and edge-case exceptions.

Core Output:

  • Detailed PRDs & User Flows
  • API Mappings & Event Schemas
  • Wireframe Architecture
PHASE 03

Cross-Functional Execution

Partner daily with engineering, QA, design, compliance, and back-office operations. Keep sprints unblocked, prioritize scope ruthlessly, and maintain relentless quality control.

Core Output:

  • Sprint Prioritization & UAT
  • Compliance & Legal Alignment
  • Ops Runbooks & Back-office Tools
PHASE 04

Launch, Telemetry & Iteration

Release with structured monitoring. Measure conversion funnels, onboarding drop-offs, and operational ticket volume. Iterate based on empirical metrics and customer feedback.

Core Output:

  • Funnel Analytics & Telemetry
  • Ops Escalation Dashboards
  • Iterative Post-Launch Roadmap

Career Trajectory

The Path to Product Leadership

My career wasn't a linear textbook path. Every phase built a specific dimension of my product thinking:

01

Product Management

Current Focus2025 – Present

End-to-end FinTech product strategy, API integrations, and scalable wealth management journeys.

Takeaway: Brings together business viability, engineering feasibility, and compliance into unified customer outcomes.
02

Customer Experience & Operations

Formative Era

Operational scaling, exception handling, compliance audits, and customer support workflows.

Takeaway: Taught me that no product succeeds without operational simplicity. Designed for the back-office on Day 1.
03

Business Analysis & Solution Consulting

Formative Era

Translating ambiguous client needs into functional PRDs, system architectures, and engineering user stories.

Takeaway: Mastered the language of both business executives and engineers, creating a natural translation bridge.
04

Business Development

Foundational Era

Customer problem discovery, commercial negotiations, and business value propositions.

Takeaway: Instilled strong ROI discipline — features must drive real commercial adoption, not vanity metrics.

Guiding Philosophy

Product Principles

Core mental models that shape how I prioritize and design digital software:

Solve real problems

Features should exist because users genuinely struggle without them, not because competitors built them or they sound impressive in a deck.

Keep things simple

Simplicity builds trust in FinTech. Reducing fields, automating verification, and removing friction creates confidence.

Decisions should be measurable

Every product choice needs a clear thesis and instrumentation to prove whether it generated measurable value.

Think long term

Design architectures and data models that evolve gracefully as regulatory mandates change and transaction volumes grow.
